Batam and bintan

Last visited Batam in Indonesia with Benny via batam center in 2004. I guess after so many years can revisit it again. Batam is almost the size of Singapore. There is a bridge linking 3 islands together called Barelang. There are a total of 5 ferry terminal spread across the island linking Habourfront and Tanah Merah in Singapore. Main 4 terminal are Waterfront city via Sekupang, Sekupang, Harbour Bay, Batam Center and Nongsapura. Visited batam via nongsapura with dinner gang in 2013. Marriott hotel is currently under construction. My next visit will probably try harbour bay.

Until today I have not been to bintan. 2016 seems to be an exciting year for bintan. Many new resort at treasure bay and lagoi bay is opening. They are trying to make it the next Bali. Very good for SG tourism. Bintan is competing against desaru as a beach destination. A new airport will be open by 2017.
