Airasia and Airasia X cancellation fees

An interesting calculation

Airasia X is promoting their fly-thru product. However the added convenience of thru baggage check in does come with a high cancellation fees and other charges per guest per sector.

Within Malaysia cancellation fees RM70 to 100
Within Thailand THB 700

SIN-KL/ BKK cancellation fee SGD 50
KL-SIN/ BKK cancellation fee RM 100
BKK- SIN/KL cancellation fee THB 1100

SIN- Perth/ Seoul cancellation fee SGD 110
KL-Perth/ Seoul cancellation fee RM 140
BKK- Perth cancellation fee THB 2500

Moral of the story try not to book fly-thru. Better to self connect from KLIA. Basically SGD 110 is equivalent to RM 140 + SGD 50 approximately.
